“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.‭‬”

Message

Being renewed in Christ calls us to put off our old selves—the anger, rage, slander, and filthy language that once characterized our lives. We are now called to be transformed through knowledge of Christ, taking on His attributes. As people God has chosen and set apart, we are to reflect His love in everything we do. This transformation is not a one-time change, but a daily renewal. We must continually choose to clothe ourselves in His virtues.

Through Jesus, we learn to walk in compassion, showing kindness even when it’s difficult, demonstrating humility, and responding with patience and gentleness. These virtues are not always easy to embody, especially when life’s challenges arise, but through God’s strength, we can be renewed. When we lean on Him, He provides the strength we need in our weakness. It’s not about perfection, but about constantly seeking to reflect His image in all that we do.

The more we choose to reflect these qualities in our daily lives, the more we become aligned with God’s will. As we grow in faith, we will experience His transformation, not just externally, but internally. This journey of renewal isn’t about doing better on our own, but trusting God to do the work in us. It’s His strength in our weakness that makes us more like Him.

PRAYER

Lord, as we seek You, You extend compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility, and patience to us. Help us to clothe ourselves in these virtues as we walk in Your ways. We recognize that we are weak, but You are strong, and we trust in Your renewal. Take away everything in us that doesn’t align with Your image and fill us with Your love and wisdom. May our actions reflect You in all that we do.
